6.0 ugly noise on one cyl.

bought a 2002 k3500 1 1/2 years ago knowing nothing about it except it wouldnt start and the trans was out. finally finished the trans rebuild on the 4l80e a couple weeks ago and got it running. cyl. 3 (2nd back on drivers side) sounds like someone is pounding on the cyl with a hammer. it is not rpm related and does it when it feels like it appox every 5-10 sec. unpluging the injector fixes the problem. changed the injectors out with a different set but same problem. 140 psi compression on all drivers side cyl. havent done pass side yet. any ideas?
