55-59 vent wing windows

As much as I like the look of 1 piece windows, I decided that I want to keep the wing windows for function, especially since I'm closing off the cowl vent on my truck. Does anyone have any pics/advice/tips/links on rebuilding the wings? Things like what brand of rubber seals fit better, where to get quality locking levers and parts, etc. I've seen a whole lot of posts and info about changing to 1 piece windows, but I haven't seen any posts about rebuilding the stock wing windows.

there is a really good video on youtube demonstrating the installation. Not sure who did it, but it is a seal manufacturer's video

Re: 55-59 vent wing windows

I did in fact use the youtube video to work on my vent windows but I bought my seals from LMC, new glass from a local auto glass company, and repainted and installed myself. Putting them in is fairly straight forward, watch the youtube video, it'll help. There are 2 very helpful videos

Re: 55-59 vent wing windows

If you need everything to rebuild your originals you might ought to look at what you can get new ones for. You might save a few bucks but sometime it isn't worth the time and effort to rebuild vs buying new.

Re: 55-59 vent wing windows

Ok thanks guys, I'll search youtube for the videos. My hangup with just buying new wing assemblies is that I've seen a few people say they don't fit good. If they do, they might be the way to go.

Re: 55-59 vent wing windows

i would rebuild what you have --rubber is available and its not really that difficult
i have done several pairs --- take your time and be methodical and you will get it done
and i am sure it would fit great .
good luck
