1968 C20 Not Starting
I just bought a 1968 C20 yesterday, and it started okay and I drove it home. There was an issue when I am slowing down and releasing gas, at probably around 30mph, there's a sound from what sounds like it's coming from towards the back, and it felt a tiny bit shaky too, but started okay everytime. Not sure what this issue was...
Then, this morning I went to start the truck and it wouldn't start? The lights won't go on and it's not making any noise at all, almost as if the battery is dead. I took off the battery and charged it from a trickle charger, which took about 2 hours, and then it was charged? I reconnected the battery, but still, the same thing is happening- not starting, not making any sort of noise, and none of the lights will turn on. Does anyone have any suggestions or information about either of these issues? Thanks so much!

Don't know about the noises, but you can take the battery out and get it checked. Batteries these days just up and die. They used to fade gracefully, but that is no longer the case.

Thank you! I did charge the battery, but you think I should still get it checked? It said fully charged on trickle charger

As far as the noise and shaking I would check the universal joints. Check your battery cable connections at both ends for the power issue. That's where I'd start.

ditto on the u-joints, and/or the 2-piece driveshaft support bushing.
you could have a bad ignition switch or other electrical problem. put the key in the "run" position and jump from the starter and see if it turns over. if so I would start with the ignition switch or look for loose wires.

If your electrical is completely dead (no lights, no clicking of the solenoid when you try to start) check your battery cables, then I would look into the fusible link. That is assuming you have a good battery.
