Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Sorry to hear you're leaving Chad. I understand what you mean about the negativity. That's one reason I left another forum long ago. I haven't been on here for long, but I've come to enjoy the info you provide on your threads and the comments you leave on others builds. I echo Keith's sentiments... You and Pops will be missed.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Thanks guys for the posts - I'm just back on for a min, I posted the truck for sale on the board. If you know of anyone looking for a solid start, let me know please.

For those who have asked, our IVF process didn't work out. I am crushed to say the least.

I had a good run, met a lot of great people. You guys will be missed too. Sometimes in life you just have to take some things out for sanity's sake. I'm really struggling with the fact I won't ever have any children. Building the trucks is hurting my Pops too. He is having problems with his hips and just cant hang out in the garage as much as we once did. He is about to sell his house and buy a single level (hard for him to climb the stairs) and I won't have a place to work on my truck anymore.

Life just changes people man.. No hard feelings fellas. We are just on to other stuff.
Please let me know if you hear of anyone looking for a good project.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Chad, I wish you well and I also hope you will drop in every once in a while to let us know you're well. My heart has fallen in my chest and my eyes are welled up with tears to hear you speak about not having children. This saddens me greatly, but I am hopeful that someday you and your wife may consider opening your home to a child who may never have a chance at having parents. Anyway, the tough guy in me needs to get off this thread... my best to you and yours, safe travels bro!

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Sorry to here about your struggles with the IVF, had a good freind go thru that a long time ago. They ended up adopting a little boy. Something to think about...

I hate to hear you are leaving but I can understand. I have a negative post from someone on my son's build thread that has my son upset and is staying away for now too.

Anyway, you and your Dad will be missed around here and I have really enjoyed your builds and your threads. Take care and maybe we will hear from you again someday.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Hey fellas ..

I have been doing some thinking and talking to Dad. Some of you may have seen me lurking and posting here and there. Bottom line I'm still a little addicted to these trucks.

I hope you guys will forgive the drama but I have just gone through a really rough time in my life. You know the feeling you just want to throw up your hands and walk away (?) The smallest thing that seems so easy for the other guy is so hard for you. Such that you have to do it 4 or 5 times to even come close to getting it right.. That's me lately.

I had a run-in with a forum member that left me feeling a bit deflated about the whole thing too. I just put the tools down and walked away for a few months.

For those of you who do not know me as much as others, I pride myself in being as honest as I can about everything. I work in Public Safety, I am the drummer at my church, I will literally do anything for anyone. My integrity was challenged and I took it a bit personal. .. but I'm over it. No hard feelings

I ask that any of you you might read this understand as a man, to know you will never have children of your own kinda does something to your mojo inside. To know I can't give this to my wife, and nothing I can do will ever change it. No amount of money, no sacrifice can be made to make it any better. It really hit me. I got really upset with myself, with God, and everything about my life. I had to walk away for a while.

For anyone who still cares and/or will follow along with me on this build I welcome you to do so. I'm back in for a while.. I still enjoy the forum and mostly looking for parts right now but guys all I ask is just please understand my position and why I had to just be mad for a while. It wasn't the forum, but I'm not going to allow one member to run me off. I don't know everyone on here anyway, I am just going to value my friendships I do have as I always have and ignore the ones who refuse it.

I have talked to some of my closest friends via PM and I do appreciate it guys. Thanks for being a friend. -Chad

Hey buddy I'm glad to see your back at it. I'm sorry to hear of all the troubles you have had, I can relate as this past year was very hard for me as well but for obvious different reasons. Today is one year since Hurricane Sandy hit and just brings up everything that happened to my family. I'm glad you decided to let let one member chase you away cause I'm sure you know it but we are not all that way. I can't wait to see some updates on your truck.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

I did buy a new DD though 21mpg average, 400hp. I'll take it.

2013 leftover, Copperhead Pearl. 3:55 posi (just for the fuel mileage as 85% of my daily commute is on the freeway) Probably one of the fastest stock trim trucks I have ever owned. Pulls like a banshee from about 40mph on. An EcoBoost will take it off the line but let's get them on the freeway

Some of you guys may not like them but I really do like the new Express trucks.

Glad your back at it chad. Ready to follow along. Some days (weeks, years?) are tougher than others, but you just have to believe it will get better. Struggles in life I believe are to draw us closer to GOD and family, the only things that matter in this life! At any rate, press on brother!

As for the dodge, I've wanted a 78 or 79 lil red express since high school, but my wife hates them! I'm still working on that. I like it!

Thanks buddy, my father has been feeling better over the last couple of months and is finally almost ready to start helping me with my truck again. I know you can appreciate that as I know how close you are to your father as well. Good luck with the new Daily, it's a nice truck. I got a new 2013 leftover GMC a couple months ago and love it. Gets 20 mpg on the highway, not bad for a extra cab 4x4.

Welcome Back Chad. Glad to see you are ready to move forward on the truck. I don't pretend to understand all of your "bumps in the road", but I have to say that even though I 'only' met Pops ( ), I know you're one heck of a fella, & if I can ever do ANYTHING to help...I sure will. WOW ... that was huge. I always remember what my Mother (now 74) says: "Let those who are perfect cast the first stone". I believe she got that from a book that has was printed a long time ago. Also know that "HE" only gives us things that we are able to bare. Be strong - enjoy the folks around you.

As for the truck progress ... I'm still watch'n.
