1968 Suburban 3/4 ton 4X4 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I REALLY like 4X4 Suburbans, enough to ditch my Blazer to have one, found a '68 500 miles away that looks reasonable in the for sale pics and price with 327/400 turbo/3.73 gears. My query is this; how does a 3/4 ton 'Burb ride? I've had 4X4's but they were 1/2 ton trucks. Also did a search to see production of 299, that's pretty rare!

Yes they are rare! I'd say the ride isn't real great but can be improved with a rear shackle reversal, and some different springs. A 68 3/4 ton 4x4 burb would be awesome!

I have a 68 1/2 ton burb. I put on Ranchero 5000 shocks and a font helwig sway bar. Rides great.

I have a 1968 K20 Suburban, and it rides a whole lot better than my 1970 SWB K10 pick up! So much so, I have lost interest in the pick up and want to drive nothing else but my 68 K20 burb now.

Big, heavy, long wheel base, and a good set of shocks. Plus I have over size tires, so that helps a lot in the ride department.

Yes, the 1968 K20 Suburban is one of the top 5 lowest production run 67-72 trucks.

No spid yet; he's still working on his wife(he's gotta give me a pretty big bag o money in a possible part trade for my Blazer), and I'm still not 100% on getting rid of this.

If you are friends with the burb guy, I am really interested in pictures of the seat covers and the SPID.
Curious about every 1968 K20 burb, just documenting the gathered info for reference.
