Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
Thanks..hope more "sport" owners will find their way here.I never really knew these existed?.I know about the 90SS454's,but not these.I actually owned a 90 Z-71 before this one, but my father wanted it more then me.The Z71 currently has 240K on it and it doesnt burn or leak 1 drop of oil!!The only thing I did to that motor was oil cooler lines o-rings,timing chain, and adjusted the valves. So after selling my Z71..I missed having my silverado, so I went out and searched for another. I found this truck and bothered the owner like a fly on crap!!.. until they sold it to me.This "Sport" has a fresh engine and trans with shift kit and it moves!!.was really impressed!.It also has the Sport Suspension package, and a 3.42 gear.Which is good cause its going to see freeway time.I have another question..since I dont have the OEM front bumper do the fog lamps brackets attach to it?..cause I have no lamps and no brackets?Assuming since the bumper isnt correct, thats how they are attached?.The switch is present in the dash and works.Does anyone know?.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
Thats funny ..cause I was just talking about that to my buddie and noticed why others were higher then mine?..wondering if the sport package had anything to do with it?.could you tell me if you have that option/code on yours cause if you do then someone lower it.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
Right on..thks...cause I was thinking about dropping it more!.This truck came from California and the previous owners were moving from there to Arizona.I believe its an original CA truck, but it has no air pump.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
Thanks and yeah it is a sharp truck has been sitting a while. A little buffing to the paint and it shines like in the pictures. But its parked as I drive my nova or my 89 k1500. Bad thing is It doesnt have the original sport stickers. It has sport stickers in the hood area and on the front and 350SS on the box but it is a true 350 sport 2wd RPO codes match the sport.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
I saw a Sport for sale at a small car dealership in OKC yesterday. Didn't get any pics though. If I get a chance I'll get back up there and snap one.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
Thought I would ask this in here since it has to deal with the orginal topic instead of posting a new thread.
The sport truck aftermarket mirrors that LMC has in there mag for the 88-98 body style, are they manual or power? Of not does any one offer them in power? Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
I have a '92 Sierra GT, but right off the line it was sent to Southern Comfort for a conversion, so there's no telling what original options it had, but it didn't after the conversion.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
The Sport mirrors were never offered with power control from the factory, and to my knowledge, nobody in the aftermarket makes them that way either. But that's a pretty cool idea.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
I've got questions! i bought a truck the other day and i cant find anywhere anything like it to compare it to so i was hoping someone could help me out....
1989 chevy reg cab swb fleetside truck, 4x4 SPORT, white-exterior w/ tan-interior, oem black fender flares, black grille, black bumpers and black mirrors w/ black and red emblems! the reason im so flustered with it is because i can find 2wds in red black and some white but i can not find one like mine! could someone please help me out with how many was made and what something like this would be worth? and yes its a true sport checked all codes in glove box and it even has the list from the assembly line from fort wayne assembly on 6/6/1989. it also has pw pl tilt and sliding back glass |

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
I wouldn't say it's rare to the point of being extra valuable, but it's still pretty cool. There was a guy I went to college with who had a white 4x4 Sport. So does yours look like this one, only white?

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
What a coincidence! I own one just like that, exept it had been repainted red when I got it. I discovered the true fa ctory color (black metallic) by removing some interior trim, and was just a few minutes ago showing my wife and explaining my plan to return it to black when it's time for paint. Than I come in and find these pics, suprise suprise!! She looked at them and agrees that is the color it should be. Thanks!!

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
What a coincidence! I really like your truck, and I think it would look good if you go back with the black.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions
Here is what I believe is an example of a Silverado optioned truck with the optional sport suspension package. I have one also, but mine is a sport side. Note the wheels are painted and not chromed. The pic was posted by user "zz3guy" and he said it was taken in 1991.
