I had another used one for my last truck and ended up making everything new except the diff mount. I am thinking this one will go down that same slope. Luckily, if you need new bushings (you need new bushings by the way, those rubber ones ride great but are not forever parts) they are only about $150 bucks TOTAL from ART (you wont need the bumpstops, I was making special snubbers for the tilt bed and long soft ones for the notch)

that is the threaded parts too, so you can chase the bars with a tap or I just made new bars. I have the bar stock dims if you need them.
Thanks for the info man. I'll definitely be ordering new bushings for the AirBar.

The nice thing about this AirBar is that it was free. The s10 I removed it from got converted to static before I sold it allowing me to rape it of all its air ride components. Even after doing all that I still made a few grand on it once it was sold! I wouldn't use this kit if it wasn't free. It's a pretty ****ty kit IMO

Thanks for watching guys. It has been so cold out in my non heated garage that I've had a hard time getting out there so far this winter. I'm still recovering from my big basement reno so hopefully Ill sell enough stuff in the next little while to buy a gas heater.

Re: Project: Patina (1949 Chevrolet 1434)

I made it back home for the holidays and pulled my 6.0L Blazer out of the garage. It was my very first vehicle and I drove it throughout high school with the original carbed 2.8 V6. The LS has been a wicked upgrade and I doubt I'll ever sell it.

That's a nice clean blazer. I too cut my teeth on an 84 blazer with a V-8 just after high school....it was a lot of fun.

Re: Project: Patina (1949 Chevrolet 1434)

Thanks dudes!

Sorry for the lack of progress on this rig over the last little bit here.

I'm still collecting parts and pieces but I made some big progress in the last little while.

I bought another set of box sides, rear fenders, and a passenger side running board for a decent price so not I basically have 2 complete trucks when it comes time to sell the left overs it should be a bit easier.

I scored a set of 17x10 Foose Nitrous 2 piece wheels off the local classifieds for cheap. The plan is to buy a front pair and run blazer brakes rather than the C5 vette brakes. Should look pretty gnarly with some big meat out back.

I also bought a couple 5.3 LS engines. Ones in a 2008 with factory 243 heads and 4L60e trans and the other is an older 5.3 with a DBW TB it came with a computer and MAF for mega cheap so I scooped it up. Neither have a harness which is too bad but I'm sure I can find one eventually.

From my understanding the truck 243 heads flow thr same as the corvette 243s except they don't have the sodium filled valves. Correct me if im wrong.

I also got this desk with the deal. I plan to put a metal top and use it in the garage.

Older 5.3

I'm still looking for some good mounts for the LS engine in the S10 chassis. With AD engineering going out of business I'm at a loss. I'm not sure I want to go with Code 504s brackets due to the design of them. If anyone has some ADEngineering LS brackets lying around please let me know so I can buy them off you!! If you have them and don't want to sell them I would greatly appreciate some measurements taken of them so I can try to replicate them.

really gathering some parts. the hunt is always fun, if you have the loot. for the mounts, honestly I'd make your own. Or atleast buy the plates of ebay, that would save you some time. then just fab the rest.

Re: Project: Patina (1949 Chevrolet 1434)

UPDATE

Finally got the billet air cap Philbuiltdesigns built for me a few years ago.

Looks good on the seamless tank:

I sold the 3.1 that came in the donor truck and put my second 5.3 on the engine stand.

On my way through Calgary last weekend I picked up some replacement parts some dude had left over from a restoration he did years ago.

New lap belts

Extra gauge, just because..

Headlight bucket

Horn

4x headlight trip rings (2 new, 2 in near new shape)

New handles

12v replacement switches

Misc parts and pieces

Dimmer

Headlight switch

New hinges

Wiper blades

My missing chevrolet emblem

I also got this drill press for a decent deal on Monday. Needs a few things but not hard to fix.

I need more space and heat!

Re: Project: Patina (1949 Chevrolet 1434)

nice score on the parts, you'll def need some of them. as for the seatbelts, I'd highly recommend 3 point belts. nice score on the drill press.

Re: Project: Patina (1949 Chevrolet 1434)

I have the same kit. I only bought it because at the time I had no electric in garage. But really I don't mind the kit. I actually prefer this style of set up because if you have problems with your rear end, swap it out in a couple hours and you are back on the road. No worrying about welding link bars onto the rear, just not a fan of that.
