What are these grommets/bumpers?

Going through the box of parts for my 55 GMC and found a paper bag with several unmarked grommets and bumpers. I've been able to identify all of them except these. Anyone recognize them?

Same items in both pictures, just different sides.

It looks like those don't have the steel sleeves https://www.classicparts.com/1955-59...ctinfo/37-851/

Or #14 on this page https://www.lmctruck.com/1948-59-che...and-components

https://www.classicparts.com/1955-59...tinfo/42-103C/

Where the firewall gromets go is way beyond me.

Re: What are these grommets/bumpers?

They're hard to make out. Do you have bumpers behind your seat where the seat goes all the way back and hits the cab. I have a '54 Chev 3100 and mine has small bumpers attached to the cab. Also there are small bumpers between the hood and the fenders and small bumpers at the glove box door.

Re: What are these grommets/bumpers?

I'm not sure about the seat. I did find the hood bumper set and glove box bumpers in the bag. I just can't figure out what these are. I've looked at every grommet and bumper in the Classic Parts catalog but couldn't match these up.

Re: What are these grommets/bumpers?

the little ones appear to be hood rubber bumpers, the larger ones could have been used on various applications. What's the diameter of the larger ones? Maybe someone used them when bolting the inner fenders to the firewall bracket

Re: What are these grommets/bumpers?

Well, one of them is an oil filler plug. Probably from a much later model Chevy. I think my Vega had one.

Re: What are these grommets/bumpers?

55 first or 2nd?
some look like door bumpers, some possibly hood bumpers that fit on the actual hood edges on the second series, the oil plug may be from a hudraulic jack? larger rubber donuts may be from cab mounts or rad support mounts? without a dimension its hard to tell

Re: What are these grommets/bumpers?

I'm going to agree that the oil one is from a bottle jack, it even has red paint on it. The one above it looks exactly like the hood - fender bumpers on my AD series.

Re: What are these grommets/bumpers?

Thanks. I thought that oil one probably wasn't supposed to be in there.

@dsraven......it's a 55 2nd.

I guess once I start putting it back together, I'll figure out whether these are needed and what they are then........or maybe not. I'll hang on to them for now anyway.

Thanks guys.

Re: What are these grommets/bumpers?

you could look online at one of the vendors and see what a "rubber" kit includes. maybe some have more detailed pics. the larger ones with a small hole in the center look like firewall grommets to me, like where the oil pressure line went through or the temp sender line went through possibly.
are you keeping the truck stock or filling firewall holes that aren't needed, etc?

They go between the inner and outerfender.

Not the same unless some were made without the metal insert. These don't have that. These may not even go to this truck but they ARE new and were with other new parts so I assume they do. Maybe I'll figure it out when reassembling or maybe they'll just go in my spare part stash.
