Re: Black Friday engine deals

why not just get a brand new crate engine from chevrolet? I got a brand new 350 for about $1400.00 shipped to my house , comes with a 3 year, 50,000 mile warranty. look on ebay, there are great deals on there all the time. I think I got mine from Radley Chevrolet back east, they shipped it to Ca . that engine runs great and has plenty of power for my 72 K20...it was the 290 hp one if i remember correctly, maybe less hp not sure

$1400 is a short block. I’m looking for a long block. And I’m fine with buying from gm. Just was hoping for a Black Friday or cyber Monday deal.

Re: Black Friday engine deals

Hard to beat the Goodwrench engine. I have installed three over the years, and everyone has been happy with them. Smooth idle, lots of torque. Works great with a small 4 barrel and dual exhausts. Provisions for dipstick on either side.

Seems like just a few years ago Jeg's had them for around $1600 shipped.

That’s what I was kind of thinking and hoping a special would get them down around the $1700 number. Guess not..

Re: Black Friday engine deals

Yeah, they used to run specials on them quite a lot.

This might be an option. It's not brand new but uses a one-piece main seal block which pretty much ends rear main seal leaks. You will need a flexplate or flywheel specific to the crankshaft. It has a different bolt pattern than pre-86 blocks and is counter-weighted. Also, most, but not all, one-piece main seal blocks are machined for roller lifters and cam retainer plate, which would be a selling point if/when you replace it with the 307.
