2020 Silverado HD
Hmm... I already knew I wasn't particularly fond of the 2019 half-ton body change (and was glad the 2500s were unaltered in 19), but in 2020, well... Hmmm. This might take a while to grow on me...

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
Just when you think they can't get any uglier
I remember thinking pretty much the same way when the 73 came out, when the 88 then the 99 came out. All hideous at first but did grow on me at least. The 2020 I am not to sure that will be growing on me. I am sure it will get mixed reviews

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
I saw that earlier today. The front end is horrible. Hopefully, the GMCs will look better! If not, my 2015 may be around as long as I will be.

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
Is that picture really what will be in production? Please say it is still open for debate. I can't imagine that they have done any market testing and had overwhelmingly positive reviews on this design. It really looks like odd to me.
Unfortunately it is not open for debate. That is the truck headed our way. That's what I just read elsewhere anyways. Last edited by cornerstone; 12-05-2018 at 01:47 AM. |

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
It looks like the front of the ford super duty. Not sure what to think of it.
Maybe it’ll look better in person.

I may get bashed for this but I do love the front end on the Ford super duty. I however do not like that Chevy IMO is trying to be some what similar to that. Last edited by bmxbang; 12-05-2018 at 08:40 AM. |

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
Another ugly truck aimed at young working crowd willing to pay $800.00 + a month payments to drive the newest year truck for 84 months and the next "newest" truck will be out in 6 months ? No thanks ,I'll keep driving the old ones .

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
Looks like the same truck with a facelift and new wheels. I don't think they included my demographic in their market study.

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
I think we'll grow to like it. Just like with all the other past body style changes that we hated at first...
I have to admit, I don't really 'hate' this one... just needs a bowtie on that grille.

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
I actually think it looks significantly better than the 1500's (but that's not saying a whole lot.) Aside from the step, the bed looks like it's straight off a Tundra.

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
...not a great looking truck in my books but whatever.
What I don't understand is why every 4wd truck made today is lifted?....none of the 4wd trucks made since...probably the 2000's... has a relatively regular or 'low' stance. Just what is going on with truck duty today that requires an additional 3"-4" of ground clearance or is this...'a thing'? Clearly, I'm not understanding this trend. So here is mental test.....go back to the original picture of the truck (side view) and imagine it 3-4" lower. Personally, I see a better looking truck...but? All good Coley

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
They do keep getting higher and higher. I went from a 2000 Z71 to a 2015 Z71 and I HAD to add steps to get in and out of the 2015 without pulling on the steering wheel and ruining the seat. The 2000 was easy to get in/out of.

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
I am scratching my head over this one too...Interesting thing I noticed when I was looking at the new HD was how much the 3/4 profile of the front sheetmetal reminded me of the '60-'66 trucks.
I remember when the '03 Silverado came out & I thought it was far from attractive, mainly because I had a '02 Silverado at the time & loved the look of it. Funny thing happened in 2010 & the '06 with the updated grille was getting my attention & I ended up buying one. Sweet looking emerald green, but a mechanical turd, unfortunately. Replaced that one with a '11 and '13 crew cab 1500, which took me a few years to have an appreciation for the design by the time we leased them. Not too sure about the current ones & pretty sure I don't like the impending '19 version, which is ok since I can't afford them anyway.

Re: 2020 Silverado HD
I ordered my 2014 Gmc 3500 HD in August 2014 when I saw the 2015. I did not like the boxy style of the 2015. They sorta have grown on me,but this 2020 HD looks hideous,I think the 2014 will be around me for a while, will keep driving my '70 , '85 , '94 C 10s.
