If the motor needs that much work its time for a swap the 5.3s sell all the time. Ive never seen one not put out at least 40 psi at idle

My 03 I just bought had what I thought was low oil pressure and when I changed the oil and filter(I use A/C Delco) it came up tremendilousy.

I'm running close to 55-60 psi now at operating temp at 60 mph.

I do have a tick at idle tho.

It always ticks and I've chamged the oil several time so its not the the filter...

well guys its been a long time coming, but i finally got the truck going again, i lost the #3 cam bearing, so i rebuilt the whole engine and now i have 65 psi on cold start up 45 on hot idle and 70ish around 2500 rpm lol nice and tight now
