New to me

Long story short I've been in market for a daily driver and got on Craigslist and came across this 98 GMC and it was a one owner so I snagged it up.

Re: New to me

Nice clean looking truck. What wheels are on it? They don't look just right, that is, they don't look like stock. GTT

That's kinda what I thought. Otherwise, that truck is nice looking. I think I would get some stock rims and drive it. GTT

OR, just take them off and roll with the steelies underneath. Anything is better than hubcaps.

But, beyond the plastic fantastic wheels, that's a good looking truck.

Re: New to me

You are correct...Walmart dub caps. Funny thing is I bought Friday and Saturday morning I lost one driving down the road so I came home and popped them all off to find 70s steelies under them. So needless to say it'll get a set of wheels just undecided on stock or aftermarket. Other than that it's a great running truck

Re: New to me

Congrats! Good looking truck for sure. It's tough choosing wheels whether stock or aftermarket, but about anything is better than those hubcaps.

Just curious, what wheels are on the truck in your Avatar?

Thanks, I'll probably put 20s on it and do a 4/6 drop when truck in avatar is either finished or sold. They are centerline smoothies with 56 truck caps adapted.

Nice! Those wheels look great with the color of the truck. Where did you purchase your A/C parts? I have a leaky compressor & need to pick up all the same parts you did. Haven't checked around too much yet, but I gotta do it soon. Wifey says she won't drive it this summer unless I fix it.

Oreilly auto parts, I have a commercial account there so everything was $217 with my discount and the compressor is new not reman. Hoping to install it all tomorrow and get charged up Monday. The wheels really do match very closely to paint. I'm pretty happy with it for now, planning on doing leather since driver seat is heavily worn and OEM material is outrageous to repair it.

Cool! Yeah, I've read and been told to buy new & not Reman. I've got factory gray leather in my Tahoe. The driver's seat has minor wear, mainly where you slide in/out near the door side. The passenger seat is in great shape still. When the time comes, I'll probably do something semi-custom. Don't wanna get too crazy since it's a driver. Be sure to post pics whenever you get yours redone.
