Opinions on repop hood hinges

I need one new hood hinge for my truck and I will probably buy a pair. I'm deciding between having mine rebuilt and buying some new ones. I was hoping some people have some experiences to share with new reproductions that they purchased.

Anything to share?

Re: Opinions on repop hood hinges

The PO installed a pair from LMC (I have the receipt) .They open and close fine but I am unable to get the one side to close completely. Close inspection revealed that the rivets are not in the same locations from side to side. There is a difference of about 3/16" which I believe is why no amount of adjustment allows the hood to close properly.
Just my two cents. It may be a one off problem for all I know. I am planning on replacing them with a rebuilt pair when funds allow.

Re: Opinions on repop hood hinges

I ordered a pair from Rock Auto, Goodmark brand, fit and work great. I kept my original hinges to be sent out for rebuilding one day...

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Opinions on repop hood hinges

Some years ago.* I was able to get a set of hood hinges and springs from the local Chevy dealer. They were made by GM for that vintage, but not during the '67-'72 run. I didn't try them yet, but they looked perfect.
* Looks like they were made by GM in 2004 for '67-'72s.
I looked in my '67 Suburban, and found them. Here are the part numbers:
Hinges -- 3911705, 3911706. [One's Left and the other's the Right.]
Springs -- 3890741 [times 2].

I have no opinion on repops. Why buy offshore, if you can get OEM? Try your dealership.

Willie does great work. He has done my Blazer hatch hinges and I currently am having him do some hood hinges.
