Re: Need help with Exhaust!
Anybody ever use a flowsound muffler, I guess there a knockoff flowmaster, single chamber, cheaper and still have the same sound?

Re: Need help with Exhaust!
Well I put on a duel in duel out super 40 flow, sounds really good, light drone while driving, good aggressive sound during hard acceleration, and a good smooth idle, not to loud and not to quiet...oh and I dumped the pipes over the rear end...
On the other hand, what are your thoughts on the high flow cat systems offered by flowmaster? Is it hard to relocate the o2 sensor. Does it make a difference in mileage and sound? Last edited by lucky_7; 07-14-2014 at 10:46 PM. |

Re: Need help with Exhaust!
Drone is there but quiet, I can turn the radio on and it goes away. The air conditioner takes a lot of it out also...I almost wish I had a bit more as I like the sound of the exhaust, which is why I'm thinking about the high flow cats.

Re: Need help with Exhaust!
High flow cats don't actually flow alot more then stock non plugged cats. Your not going to get much out of them on a stock truck.

I thought I had read that somewhere else as well, so I was hesitant to say anything.

Fixed the videos... Well the plan in the future is doing some major mods to a second engine, and dropping it in place of the existing, or if I get the chance to buy a nice gas saver I'll drive that and mod what I have... |

Re: Need help with Exhaust!
Gotcha. Saw the videos, & definitely much more aggressive sound with the Flowmaster. Sounds good though!

Re: Need help with Exhaust!
This is probably true, however my cats were fine. I did it for the larger ID pipe, there is definately a difference in sound and a lil performance.....

Re: Need help with Exhaust!
I know i'm resurrecting an old thread here but i think its worth it. I recently had dual pipe ran to the bed corners and turned them down. Dont ask why, Just felt like trying it. Results are amazing! Truck sounds more like a truck and almost no drone on the highway. Lite drone from 1200 to 1700 rpm. I just feel like it sounds so much better I had to post an update. Ill get a video up soon.

Re: Need help with Exhaust!
Glad to hear that. Looking forward to the video. I have always like the sound better with full tailpipe(s). My 96 had a 50 series flowmaster with duals and tips to the back. Sounded wicked. Super loud outside the truck and I noticed no droaning at all. My regcab 02 has magnaflow with duals and tips. Its fairly quiet inside, but sounds wonderful when you stomp it or on the outside. I hardly ever hear the good sound because I am always driving and not on the outside of the truck.

Re: Need help with Exhaust!
Here is the new video.. It has the same muffler as before. You can tell its just a little quieter outside the truck. I think it has a smoother sound, definitely not as aggressive as the dumped pipes.
