Engine Temp
What temp would my otherwise stock engine be running if the gauge is straight up and down?
Currently running a 180 t-stat. |

My gauge never goes past 1/4 of the way with a 195 stat.

The stock gauges are really not good for much. I always run a good temp gauge.

Assuming the tstat and cooling system are working properly, the normal op-temp is 10-20* higher then the tstat temp. Tstat temp is when they start to open.
I think some of those laser temp things get confused by the air between the target and the gauge. Don't put too much faith in the accuracy of a 40 year old mass produced gauge. |
