How big of a c notch can I put in without lifting my bed?

Re: C notch

That's about all, just the "C" notch. No step notch. Check out the Suspension section on here.

Re: C notch

Not sure but from all I have seen on here it looks like there is room to throw 2" box tubing over the frame above the rear end and cut out the stock section. That would give you 4-6" of notch. Did it in the past on a mini truck and never had any issues.

Re: C notch

The top of the pig or center section will hit the bottom of your bed floor if you put anything more than a c notch in.

Re: C notch

My bad. Thought there was enough room under there.

Re: C notch

I pulled out part of my old wood floor and did a 3" pipe notch. My rear diff bottoms out on my shock absorber crossmember before the axels bottom out in the notches. If you need anything more than a 2.5" notch in the back then you are in for a bunch of work. Tear out bed floor. Remove shock crossmember. Install step notches and raise carrier bearing up 2" to fix driveline angle. If you don't modify the bed floor then you will only get about 1" up into the frame before the diff hit the bed floor underneath.

Re: C notch

You can "C-notch" enough to get the axle about 1.5" into the frame before the differential housing starts hitting the bed floor.

Even though that 1.5" doesn't seem like much, it sure makes a difference in ride when you don't want to cut the bed floor.
