Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

Good looking truck! A red 5-speed sport is what started my infatuation with these trucks. The pinstripe that runs down the side is not factory, if you wanted to restore the factory look that would be my first step. Great looking truck though. How much did you have to give for it, if you don't mind me asking?

That's interesting. Didn't know that about the pinstripe. It's relatively faded anyway so I planned on removing it. Plus, i think it's overkill with the lower trim. I ended up trading my 94 z28 camaro that needed some work done to it. I was in that car right so I think I came out pretty well.

Also, the black wheel well molding is not factory. It still kinda goes with the theme of the truck its just not stock. I just looked at all the pictures of your truck and man did you get a diamond! I wish mine was in that good of shape, it will get there though. Love the grey interior!

Thank you so much! i really love it. I'm planning on removing the pinstripes, wheel well molding, and i just put new tires on it yesterday. Stock size, blackwall out.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

Is there any chance that someone on here can help me find one of these? I have been looking for a nice one for a while. I would prefer a black one and 4x4. I am not picky about year. The more stock; the better.

When I search them through Google, I end up with a bunch of amazing pictures from this forum. If someone out there can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you, everyone.

Please let me know.

Take care.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

There is a black 2 wheel drive on ebay for 12K I think. Its over priced in my opinion but maybe you could talk some sense into him. Black is definitely the easiest ones to find, 4wheel drive might be tough though!

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

Does anyone know how many of the "sports" came with red interior and how many with the grey?

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

What would any of you make of this?
It has the 5.7 350 and it is a 5 speed manual transmission. The emblems inside the truck say its a Scottsdale. It also had the full black grille with the red outlined bow tie when I bought it. There is also evidence that there was once fender flares on it, because some of the bondo is breaking off on the passenger side, where the bolt holes used to be.

Post up the VIN, someone can get an RPO breakdown. It is so easy to swap grilles, headlights, emblems, etc...it'd be hard to say how it rolled off assembly.

Look in the glove box for this code BYP, if it's there then you have the SPORT EQUIPMENT PKG

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

Did not know there was a Scottsdale after 87.yes there were 4X4 sports at least in 89 with flares and 5 speed. As said above look for the BYP code, if it's there you have the sport equipment package

Welcome to the board. Unfortunately, I don't have any production numbers for you, but it you're patient, I'm sure someone will be along shortly that can help you find them.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

Picking up this beauty this weekend. Not a Sport truck but, I think it may be pretty special. As it sits right now, is how it left the showroom floor @ the dealership (26) years ago. Some of the oddball RPO codes of note are:

B3P
Z88
ZQ8

Just by the little research that I have done, the truck went to a conversion company after it left the factory. It has a little name plate plat on the glove box that reads " Performance Suspension ". Truck is lowered 4.5 / 6.5. Bought it from a couple that have owned it for the past (9) years. they bought it from a good friend that bought it from the original owner. When I asked the PO if the truck has been lowered, she replied " it has always been the way you see it now "...............
