It has a 6lug on front end which I would assume is factory and a full float Dana 60 8lug in the rear with leafs. I left work a little to happy on a Friday and grenaded the rear end. So I got a full rolling 74 chassis with SBC th350 2wd lwb. My plan is to swap the 12bilt into the 67 along with all the front suspension components to make it 5lug all around. Also I will put the th350 in it once I pull it and rebuild it.

So i finally got around to pulling the rear end and pressure washed it. Pressure washed the th350 in the chassis and it will get pulled next. Started measuring leaf spring lenghts and found I can not swap leaf spring due to length and spring width 😟. And I need a new driveling because the 60 had a 1350 ujoint and 12 bolt is 1310 I believe.

And if anyone could help me identify which trans this is would be very helpful.
I can't identify the trans without a pic of the pan. But, it's definitely a long tail shaft!!!

Just did some bearing work and hoping someone sees that I'm in need of a HO52 rear carrier with a 4.10 gear set...

3757chevy, the second half of the driveline is short do too the yoke to axle centerline being longer than the 12bolt,but yes I have herd of those.

Ol bluek20, the trans is a 4spd manual doesn't have a pan. I thought it might be an sm420 or sm465 but doesn't look like any identifing features match with one of those

Now the trucks running I could catch up on needed repairs on the Woodshed. Burning all the repair scrap wood. I did have it out to local show on Fri. and to do a full detailing on it. All the glass and the dash.

Finally got time to recover my seat and get it back in the truck this weekend. It sure is a lot more comfortable to drive with the seat recovered.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Trouble shooting the fact that I have zero rear braking with a new master cylinder and proportioning valve. Have a hard petal even with the left rear bleeder cracked open, and no flow. Think I must have a bad proportioning valve. Got another one ordered, and that doesn't fix it I will look at the rear rubber hose next. The valve trip rod is in the middle and the light is not on, and I have verified that the brake light works. Going to charge the ac tomorrow while I wait on brake parts.

Sounds like the prop valve pin needs to be reset

I am with you there! I recently painted my daily driver's drums and those look so much better. *I very nearly painted the hubs also but figured I needed high temp paint. I did paint the center of the rotors, just to allow the alloy wheels to not have "dissimilar metal corrosion" as much.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Haven't posted progress in awhile because I've just been slowly taking it apart. But I'm planning to finally get the frame fixed and the body media blasted tomorrow, so I got the bed onto a dolly this past weekend, and tonight I got the doors disassembled and taken off, and the windshield and rear window off. I tried to do Lockdoc's old method where you stuff the garden hose under to kind of hold the seal out, but my seal is rock hard so it wasn't happening. Had to cut it. But I got it all out! Now it's ready for blasting and then I'll be painting for a week or so!
