Vortec Pro Performance...

Is anyone on here running one of Mark's engines? I am VERY interested in purchasing one of his 496 BB's, but what honestly scares me is how LOW his prices are!! Does anybody know what he uses for rotating assembly and cylinder heads? Are they a "bullet-proof" setup, or is it a "get what you pay for" kinda thing???? Competitor crate engines are 4 to 8 thousand more for compareable horsepower... HOW does he do it??!!!!!!

Re: Vortec Pro Performance...

The guy is sharp! He is on the Team Chevelle forum. There are guys there that are using his engines. If you search the forum, there is lots of info on Mark and his engines. Including dyno sessions. He uses factory iron heads (049 and 781) although he has also experimented with the 236 peanut port heads with great success. Dual plane intake and 10.0 compression. Do yourself a favor and look around on the chevelle forum. What Mark does with so little, will blow your freakin mind!!

I have no association with mark nor do I receive anything for recommending him. He built a specific motor for me and I drove up to Colorado (1000 miles) to pick it up and meet him. I saw his shop and hung with him for a day, he dynoed my motor. I loved it, loaded it in the van and drove home. If I ever get another....it will be from him, no one else.
