Such a nice truck. I like the brace you used on the intake--clean!

X2 on the brace. Nice detail. Did your front bumper line up good? Mine fit fine as a 4x4 but after installing front crossmember it needed some tweaking to fit.

Re: 1972 Blazer 4WD to 2WD conversion in Texas.

Thanks. Intake is a modified Spectre kit. I cut the brace off another location on the tube, had it welded at the new location and had the tubes re-polished. Tried to keep it as simple as possible.

Had to wallow out the holes on the front of the frame a little but other than that it lined up pretty good. Both bumpers are replacement Premium Chrome Bumpers from LMC.

Looking good! Why the need to knock the nubs off the tire rack?

I modified the spare tire holder to fit the larger 275 60 15 tire. The bumps would push into the tread before the modification.

I've never heard of a "Vortec Max" ! Which trucks used this engine ? Might be a US only available option.

I saw an LS Swap here in San Antonio with the Vortec Max covers and i knew that was the direction I wanted to go. It looks like the Vortec Max was an option on the chevy silverado's. I am working on a new set of covers. Attached is a sneak peak.

There are a few companies that fabricate LS Swap harnesses. I used Speartech because a friend purchased his harness from them and he was happy with the product. Once I spoke to Speartech on the phone I felt they understood the modifications I wanted and the price was about the same as everyone else.

I had the MAP sensor exit the harness on the drivers side, had the harness made 6' longer to reach under the drivers seat, and had Speartech wire in a 3 wire oil sending unit to be compatible with the Dakota Digital Guages (2002 stock is 1 wire). The 2002 computer does not sent the correct signal for the 3 wire oil sending unit so that modification did not work. I ended up not plugging in the oil sending unit connector and used the Dakota Digital oil sending unit wire harness that was provided with the instrument cluster.
