where to buy...

Played tag a couple weeks ago with a deer and my 2001 suburban grill and light assemblies lost. Obviously oem is best, but any thoughts or advise on aftermarket suppliers. Good or bad, what do you think.

Re: where to buy...

Just try to get the CAPA [some some of tong yang certing thing]. there are some places on the E-Bay that can sell you a pair of lamps for just a few bucks more than the local aftermarket places will sell you one lamp. I have been in my shop since 87 and it help to do business with some places for a long time and getting deals others it doesn't. I had been buying my lights for one type of car from this one place for like 60 bucks per side and this E-Bay place had them for 90 buck per pair with shipping. Several times I've seen it happen the aftermarket place will low ball on one part to make it look good the knock your socks off on others. Of course it is also driven by the list dealers price and they are way over inflated on headlamp stuff. Jim

Junkyard? Burbs and tahoes were the same from 2000-2006 and silverados from 99-02. There's got to be one with a clean font end somewhere. Sometimes they pop up used on ebay. You may get lucky and get a newer one off an 05/06.

I bought an aftermarket grille for my 99 S10 a couple years ago. It fit and looked OK, but wasn't quite the same as the OEM grille.

Re: where to buy...

did the same thing in my '03. Replaced the metal part of the bumper, right side brackets, head light mounting panel, and both inner wheel wells myself and shipped to my door the parts were right around $400. www.rockauto.com just looked at headlight assemblies the other day on there and they are only $30 per side.

I got some stuff from A1 years ago. nl issues with them and they were the only one that had the parts I needed for an old Geo.
