Is it worth $700

Hello all, I have been looking around on here since this past fall when I bought my 63 but I have never posted before. My name is Tony and I enjoy playing with these old cars.

That being said I have a question for you all. I can pick up a 66 c10 longbed for $700. It is in really rough shape. Is enough of the truck salvageable for me to sell $700 worth of parts?

I agree that it's not worth $700. If there are good pieces to sell, maybe worth $300-$350 if it has a title. Maybe.
You would be far better off saving some money and buying better. In the long run you will save time and money by getting something in better condition.

Be tough to turn any profit at paying $700.00 for it.

Re: Is it worth $700

I agree, although people WILL pay for parts, they either need to be in great shape or in great demand.

With the exception of the slotted wheels and the V8 fan shroud I don't see anything that fits in either of those categories.

This would be my comfortable buying range too. Although my brother bought this truck for $400, kept the rear end, motor and trans and still managed to make his money back plus a little more.

Re: Is it worth $700

I would say no. I would pass. Forget about it as a whole and ask yourself "how much would I pay for that door" (door being just an example) Lot of rust. Most folks will not buy used rusty parts. Do the math and see if you think it will work out. I have bought quite a few with little rust and barely got my money back. Not worth the effort unless you need something off that truck yourself.

Is he interested in a sales job by any chance?
