Re: 70 c10 swb

Welcome to the site, the front stuff has been covered hundreds if not thousands of times I'm not one of those guys to say use the search, but here is the scoop. Any 1/2 ton two wheel drive truck [GM of course] up to model year 1987 will be a perfect donor for the parts you need use the whole crossmember or not you can bolt up the control arms to thew crossmember that is in the truck now if you keep the motor in and don't want to change it out. But you can use the control arm like I said and the brake parts even the power steering box as well.
Now if you get a newer donor truck say after 1980 model year, the steering box needs a adapter to fit the lines but then again that is super easy as well and there are hundreds of threads in here about that as well. Now if your getting those parts off of a square truck[73-87up to 91 on the suburban] might as well grab the booster and M/C and the proportioning valve. That will give you all the stuff needed to make your new truck a lot more fun to drive. Welcome again to the site holler if you need help. Jim

Re: 70 c10 swb

If all you want to do is a disc swap, you don't need control arms, or a crossmember change. The disc swap kits sold by many aftermarket companies will work on your 70's factory control arms. You may need to change spindles, depending on the kit you buy. Just make sure you buy the kit for your truck. If it's all factory, you just need to make sure you look at a swap meant for your 70. If you or someone else had swapped to a newer control arm, spindle and/or crossmemeber from a 71 up C10 then you should already have discs on it.

The option Jim suggested will work if you're looking for a factory type setup or want to avoid aftermarket parts.

I see you have asked this question again in another post. Refer to that thread for more info...
