6 cylinder throttle linkage

I'm looking for some pics of a 67-70 truck with the rod style linkage on a 250 or 292. I've checked all the 6 cylinder threads I could find but to no avail.

Its been so long since I've looked at a stock linkage setup that I forgot how it works, and I'm not sure if I'm missing parts or what.

Re: 6 cylinder throttle linkage

That would be excellent thank you.

I am in the process of using a 71 P chassis linkage, a 68 chevelle linkage and some ingenuity to make somthing that will work for now. the stock intake and manifold will be temporary until I can find a carb that will work correctly with my other setup.

Re: 6 cylinder throttle linkage

Well, I ended up finding all my 4bbl linkage today, it was tucked way up under the seat of the 67. So were not even gonna mess with the stock stuff. The quadrajet seemed to run good on the 292 before so.....

Thanks-I'm always in that "Help" aisle so I'll have a look. My '67 had a inline 6 originally with choke and all so the quadrajet looks kind of fabbed to me.

Re: 6 cylinder throttle linkage

While we are talking about 6-cyl. throttle linkages...my 68 has a 250 and a Hedman Header on it and I had to modify the linkage because the header wouldn't allow the linkage to fully relax back to idle. Does anyone know of a carb adapter to rotate the silly Monojet carb 90 degrees to use a direct linkage to the carb? I have no idea why the carb sits sideways on this engine, but my linkage is now sticky and I can't operate the throttle smoothly. Any ideas?

Re: 6 cylinder throttle linkage

I just went to start mine and it started and died a couple of times while the throttle was moving smoothly then the throttle started to stick. And wouldn't start. Then when I used it manually it wouldn't start. Any ideas on the problem?

Any photos of an automatic trans linkage to carb for the 67-70 250 ? Thanks. 6cyl auto trucks seem to be rare on this forum.

Welcome, from Texas. Beautiful state, Oregon. Have visited there often in my lifetime. Daughter now lives in Gearhart, Or. Works in Astoria.

Re. bracket: Check the parts for sale forum on this site and/or ebay. I haven't seen them on the vendors catalogs but some may have added them in.

Barring above, the only other thing you can do is hit the salvage yards for any GM vehicle that used the inline sixes. There were a lot of Novas and other Chevies that used the inline sixes.

If you can't find one, get a good picture of one and see if you can make your own. Doesn't seem too hard to make.

I don' know. Like 68gmsee, I would also say to look on the parts for sale forum on here or a salvage yard in your area...
