*New Seats For My 49*

I thought I had ask about seats before in one of the forums but couldn't find it. Anyway, I acquired a set of bucket seats for my 49 today. Had to drive a couple hours to Simpsonville Ky. to pick them up and got them for $150. They are out of a 2012 Ford Fusion, Charcoal gray, full leather, drivers side is power. They look brand new. All the dimensions look great and should fit fine. Of course the seats will stick up about an inch in the back window without the headrest. that's just the nature of the beast when your dealing with updated seats. May have to fab up some kind of seat risers as I'll need to raise them about 3-4 inches but it's looking good.

Re: *New Seats For My 49*

Thanks guys. Console is next. Have to wait until I have the seats mounted to see how much room I have between them. Then, life will be at it's finest.

Re: *New Seats For My 49*

id figure out where you want the seats but don't mount them. then go find a console. that way you can make sure every thing fits. I didn't do it that way and wasted a lot of time.

Right now it looks like I may have 8" to 9" between the seats. Did an indepth search today on the seats and looks like they did not come out of a Ford Fusion but a Focus Platinum. The color is called Black Charcoal. I'm going to search for a stock console so I can get a good color match but that all depends on the size.

Re: *New Seats For My 49*

The seat belts currently in my truck will not fit into the seat belt latch on the new seats. Are all Ford seat belts the same or do I need to find some for a 2012 for my seat ?

Dude, thats awesome. I love those seats. The purchase of Jaguar really showed through on the Ford designs in those years.

I looked and looked for a set of those, but gave up and bought some buckets from Speedway. Not nearly as nice.

Those look nice. Looks like you jacked them up pretty high. Haven't got mine in yet but I took some measurement and looks like I will have to jack mine up about 4" and that will put the back of the seat just about the rubber seal on the back glass.

Re: *New Seats For My 49*

I worked on my drivers seat tonight after work and got all the electric for the switches figured out. Drivers seat will now be fully functional. I'm a happy camper.

Re: *New Seats For My 49*

I like those seats brandon, I was tempted to try a set in red when they were on sale a couple years ago, but wussed out and went with recovering a bench.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy new lap belts. Anyone better than the other and which ones should I stay away from?

Re: *New Seats For My 49*

Got my console in today and got it mocked up. It fit perfect in-between the bucket seats. I'll need to make an 8" tall box covered in the black carpet I have on the floor for the console to mount to. I'll be installing it on Saturday. Also got my new old horn in as well.

Re: *New Seats For My 49*

That does look nice. Seats and console look like they belonged there from the get go.

Now you need to get the door inserts done with matching material with some similar stitching worked in to the design to finish it off.

Yup. That's on the list next. Going to try some 1/8" Luan. Wife and I are headed to another fabric store looking for the Charcoal Black leather like what's on the seats. Cannot find the OEM leather so looking for something that is close. A buddy of mine re-upholsters furniture in his garage so he is going to stitch some white virtual lines for me on the new door panels.

Re: *New Seats For My 49*

Nice combo of seats and center console. I checked sailrite.com for some matching fabric. They'll send you a good size swatch for next to nothing if you want to test different faux leather colors.

https://www.sailrite.com/Fabrics/Hom...tem_popularity

I loved putting the Ford F150 platinum bench seat in my truck. Even made the truck smell newer
