Sorry for the hijack.
Thanks for the info.
Maybe a road trip is in order.
Any other info would be helpful too.

I don't think I would call that restored! But it is kind of cool all the same.

Re: LFD's C50 Web build

I am going to look at a 71 C60 in the morning with a 427 tall deck running and driving for $1300 or less. PS, Pb,Tac and who knows what else.

Well I just spoke with the owner and I will check it out in the morning but the great state of california had all their DMV's closed today so no moving permit. It is Non-opp'd but with out a permit it is not worth the ticket or the tow bill so if it is worth it i will buy it and come back ina week or two to drive it home.

Re: LFD's C50 Web build

Well it turned out to be a mess but I did really like the 427 hood vents. The cab was way rusty, fronmt clip was rusty and dented up good. It did run and drive but I doubt it would make it home under its own power. So I through out a low ball numberand lucky for me he did not bight.

I need to get my current projects up and running then I will start this project by first finding a burb to convert to the crew cab and get that part finished then start looking for the rest. I think this will save time and space at my house plus if I change my mind later a complete crew cab CAB would be an easy sell.

I will post pics later as my in-laws do not have a mem drive reader.

Re: LFD's C50 Web build

I wanna see this project take off already! If your still looking for some of the big trucks there are a lot of them down here in central California. The farm fields use/used them, so there are a lot of them that are in decent shape that do not run and have been parked. I see them all the time and always wondered about snatching one up for a build like yours, I just couldn't picture it like you did so I am doing the same concept with a 57'

Re: LFD's C50 Web build

Went truck shopping this weekend.

Maybe I should have driven to Modesto, or flown and drove it http://modesto.craigslist.org/cto/1645095270.html home.

Re: LFD's C50 Web build

Sorry but this was a web build from the start and still is! I would love to build it but right now is not the time for this project, I still have too many that are not done yet and need my attention before starting any more.

I would see that yellow Tonka truck around St George all the time, but not so much any more. Heres a Spartan I ran across the other day, dressed up with lights and Santa at the wheel. (highjack off)

I found this thread and tried to carry on with some of the ideas and designs. I think Chad nailed it with the renderings... I hope you all enjoy. Its hard to be original when you guys had these ideas years ago.....
