White grease on driver side floor mat?

Greetings all.

Today I found two dime-size "chunks" of white grease on the floor mat of my 2012 Sierra (2000 miles) behind the brake pedal.

Anyone else had had this happen? Is it just excess coming down from the pedal mount assembly or is this something I need to look into?

Thanks

Dave Z

It's possible it's just excess grease coming down! Has it been hot there lately? I would check about where it landed and see if there is a spot where it's been applied under the dash. If not, did you have some on your shoe?

Re: White grease on driver side floor mat?

Steve
Thanks for your reply. The grease is about 4 inches behind the pedal.
I did some stealthing with a mirror and flashlight and the pic below shows where the grease likely came from. It looks like it came from the brake pedal arm pivot point (blue circle) so I just picked it up and packed back around the pivot.

I assume the pedal bolt is supposed to be out that far with the black retainer clip holding it in position and the cap nut out on the end.

Thanks for the help.
