cant give you a exact weight but if you are just going to pick one up, two guys should be enough. i just scrapped a crappy 8 foot bed off a 91, me and a friend had no problem getting it on the trailer and i lifted the one side up and flipped it off the trailer myself. i would guess about 200lb?

Thanks 84. But I need to know the exact weight of a 8 ft. bed in pounds for 1992. Can't guess. I'm thinking there's somebody on here who has that info?

Thanks, looking for more responses.

I work in Ford parts. We have weights listed on our part information pages for everything for shipping purposes. This is a case where you may be able to call the dealer and get your answer, assuming you don't get the newbie to answer the phone.

Thanks Chris, do you think a chevy dealer would still be able to ship a customer an 88-98 fullsize bed nowadays? I'm thinking they aren't even selling them anymore. I don't know that for sure though.

Thanks.

That part I'm not sure of, but it's doubtful. All of our beds show up as truck freight anyway, but it still has a weight listed. For instance, a newer Superduty 8 foot bed is listed as 680lbs. I'm sure GM has their parts weights available to them as well, it's just a matter of finding someone who knows how to find it since that's not something us parts guys usually care about.

Re: Need to Know Weight of a 1992 8 Ft Bed?

Just called a local Chevy dealer. Had the 'shipping weight' of a short bed at 785 lbs. No info on un-crated weights. Didn't have info on long beds. We all know a short bed doesnt weigh 785 lbs. Neither one available from GM any longer.

Not a good source.
