Re: What Carb to go with?

For a sb I think I would go with a 600cfm Holley or quick fuel

Re: What Carb to go with?

I decided to go with a Street Demon 625 cfm.
I have been very happy with it. I installed a wideband o2 sensor and found that on my Goodwrence 350 with summit 1102 cam I was pretty rich somewhere in the 11-1 range at cruise. I picked up the jet and rod kit and have put two steps worth of larger rods in and it got me in the neighborhood of 13-1. I think I need to jet down a size and get the springs dialed in but I need to get an inductor running to stabilize the power to the o2gauge.

Even when rich the truck started first crank and ran nicely. With the fuel mix closer to ideal it still runs beautifully and has never a hint of bog. I'm still working on figuring out where my milage will be but it is looking promising.

Edelbrock on my daily drivers. Zero issues, however any carb will perform great or lousy depending on how it is tuned.

Re: What Carb to go with?

On my drivers I've gone back to Q-jets with electric chokes. Everything bolts right back up with no modifications but a choke wire.

So for my money, Jet Stage III 750 with electric choke.

Keep you Q-jet, you will want to put it back on down the road, there are one of the best carbs out there.

Re: What Carb to go with?

Correcting myself to JET Stage II. The Stage III carb is a choke less carb with oversized needles and seats for NHRA Stock and Super Stock applications.
