shaved door handles

want to shave my doors on my 51 truck. anybody got an idea on what type latch i should use or do i use my original latch... what company out there has what i need that will work for me, there are so many.... without lots of head scratchin...need to be pointed in the right direction as far as a good solenoid and latching setup any and all help is greatly appreciated......thanks for the help

i used stock new latches and 35 lb solenoids on my 58

I used Autoloc solenoids on my 53 but I think if they ever need replacing I am going to use actuators instead of solenoids. Like these: http://www.avsontheweb.com/product.p...cat=138&page=1

I'm a big fan of the AVS units. The Autocrap, I mean Autoloc stuff has been nothing but a headache for me in the past. My experience with Autoloc, or the Hoffman Group, has been negative.

thanks guys i went ahead and took your advice and ordered the 100 dollar universal actuators from avs, hope i ordered the right thing... they say these are universal, does that mean they will fit anything in the universe..... gitrdone, i am gonna try to use my original latches, do you think i will be alright with them, i also ordered door poppers, i am xcited about doin this install.... again thanks.... any and all feedback and advice is welcome... garyt
