Lifting your truck and garage door height

I have a 1969 K10 with 2 inch lift and 31 tires. I am thinking about going to 4 inch lift with 33's. Does anyone here have experience with this lift / tire combination and a 7' garage door? Gotta keep the old girl inside

Add 3" to your existing height and see what the total dimension is.
2" of tire + 2" additional lift = 3" overall gain in height.

Ditto on what the previous post said. Though you have to take into account actual previous lift vs new lift and actual tire sizes can vary. I would add at least an inch wiggle room.

Funny story, one time a guy I work with asked for some help putting a lift on his mid 80’s K10 in his garage.He ordered a 4” kit. We put the lift on one Friday evening only realize after we had it together that it was sitting way higher than we anticipated. Checked the part numbers on the springs, sure enough, Sky jacker sent him 6” springs. All he had for it were a set of 35’s as he as replacing an existing worn out 4” block lift that the truck already had. We had to let all the air out of his tires at 2am on Saturday morning to get it out of the garage

The funny thing about that is before u know it you can’t tie your shoes never mind getting in to the truck

They did the same thing to me. Ordered 4in lift springs and got 6in. They sent the correct ones and gave me shipping labels to send the others back.

I added a 4 inch lift with springs front and back and 15x10 ralley wheels with 35s. I have less than 2 inches between the cab and the garage.http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=725404

My '72 K2400 has 4" lift and 285/75-16s (33"). I built a small garage (12' x 22') as low as possible that it would still fit in, and I plan to go back to 35s. It has a 7'H x 9'W door opening. Fits fine. I can only back it in because there is a beam the cab won't clear at 9' off the back wall.

My 72 K30 has roughly 5" of lift on 33's. I have to dump the rear air suspension to get it in my garage which has a door height of 7'. If it wasn't for the air ride, I'd be stuck working on it outside. I guess it hasn't been in a garage for 3 years or more so does it matter?
