WIW? 4WD skid plate and t-case

What's a nice original 4WD gas tank skid plate worth? Also a NP203 transfer case in excellent condition (looks like it may have been rebuilt). What's the high and low value for each?

There's a separate page on here for WIW posts, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...splay.php?f=83

But for the NP203 they're not sought after (unless it has a 10-spline input) but I've never paid more than $100 for a working one with the trans adapter included.

Prob'ly about a hundred each. My question would be which gallon capacity tank does the skid fit

Not 10-spline. Tank is roughly 27" x 27" x 11.5" (not accounting for rounded corners) so about 35 gallons. Does that make it a Blazer tank? It came off a '74 shortbed 4WD frame but I don't know if it was originally under a pickup or Blazer.

With those dimensions, the tank and guard are either from a blazer or a suburban. The trucks only had the narrow side-saddle tanks from the factory. If a truck had a rear-mount tank, someone put it there later.

I can't help much on the value. The np203 is probably worth the most to someone who wants to use the front gearbox bit as a doubler in front of a np205.

The skid plate is of questionable value. I personally don't want to run one. The risk of rusting the tank out from trapped mud is worse than the risk of puncturing the tank, in my opinion. Some folks still want them, though.

Interesting. It's a 1974 short wheelbase frame, were the Blazer and Suburban both available as shortbeds that year? Or would it just be Blazer?

The skid plate is from a Blazer or Suburban, there were no short bed Blazers or short Suburbans- I guess the Blazer is a short Suburban...
Like it was said already the pickups had saddle tanks and this would've been added by a previous owner or shop if they relocated a tank between the rear frame rails. Not factory for a pickup.
