Picked up my new to me truck

Yesterday I bought this Silverado from a guy for dirt cheap($650) right after selling my 85 Chevy. Need a bed, front rotors/brakes, and has some faults which I will be addressing/asking about. Indicator for transmission position doesn't work, gas gauge doesn't work, but for the price I can't complain. I'm hoping to pick up a step side bed I found for $600, maybe see if I can get the price down a tad. But here she is, 4.3, 2wd.

If you've got any plans to lower it now is the time.

I'm debating it, I'm debating if I want to fix and use as my daily or fix and sell to fund my 66 project truck, if I fix to keep, I'll be selling my 94 after getting it good and road worthy.

Yea it should be, my 94 is a 5.7 and gets about 17 hwy. I'm definitely thinking about keeping it. Because for the price I paid for it, and after repairing it, it will definitely be worth me keeping it, I'll just see how it is after getting it road worthy.

Re: Picked up my new to me truck

So I've made up my mind I'm gonna be keeping this, and will most likely be making this a build thread being as I see no build thread section for 99-06. Now just to figure out which company to go with for a 4/6 drop, right now I'm looking at McGaughy's. Unless someone can recommend a better kit, also hoping to find a nice stepside bed to put on it being as the bed I had found got sold before I could get it.

Re: Picked up my new to me truck

Well I got around to messing with the new truck today, started cleaning all the PO's junk out being as he told me he didn't care about what was in it I could have it. Found a 360 Controller, a few little tools, and about $7-8 dollars in change(beer money). Well after cleaning it I realized after the years of soda/monster/coffee it needed the interior/carpet and seats stripped out of it. Well heres some pictures of it stripped, I know how you guys love pictures. Unfortunately there will some time before I can get back to work on it being as I go underway for about 2 weeks tomorrow(needs of the Navy). When I get back hopefully I can acquire some dynomat material to install in the truck and get a new piece of carpet for the back panel behind the seats(PO drilled holes/made brackets for speakers and cut the carpet all up). I've got some good seats that actually came with my 66 with the center console being as the console was gone when I got this one. I'll just reupholster these seats and build a custom center for the 66. Well enough of my talking time for the pictures.

You can see the makeup brackets here.

I love my 02 Silverado W/T. Great daily driver. Not really better on gas that they V8s, but she does ride nice. Looks like yours will clean up real nice

I'm hoping it will clean up pretty good, I'm looking up suspension and such, having some trouble locating a bed, I had found one but it's gone already, one place that finds/ships says $1800 which I think is pricey. I'm looking for a nice stepside shortbed for it. Also if anyone knows right off hand about how much matting I will need so I can order some.
