Powder Coating Springs???????

I just purchased an ECE lowering kit for my truck, and am debating whether or not to have the rear leafs and front coil springs powder coated. Has anyone done this, or would I be better off just having them blasted and then paint them with something like POR-15? Any advice is appreciated!

if you do end up having them blasted, take the freshly blasted parts and leave them sit outside for a few days, and allow them to develop a good coat of surface rust. POR will stick to the rust 10x better than a freshly blasted surface. this is because it is moisture curing, and it will actually draw the moisture out of the rust, and cause the finish to be tougher.

Either way is fine. And either way you want at least a 220 grit sanding or a aluminum oxide blasting. Sand blasting will be fine too, just not beads. Both POR-15 and Powdercoating work best if they have something to bite on. Especially POR-15. You don't absolutely need the rust though. www.por-15.com
