Question carpet info needed?

I got a score today. Full factory carpet set from local rod shop for $50.00, they were selling out the line.

The question is....it is a 73 to77 set and I have a 1980 2wd. What is the difference? I think I read somewhere that the centre tunnels were different?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Doug

I think one problem you will have is that starting in 78 the area in front or the rear seat was lowered for more leg room and to allow for the rear seat to fold up behind the buckets. I am not positive but I think the carpet kit for a 73-77 would be fairly different from a 78-91.

Re: carpet info needed?

Thanks for info. They list 73-77 and 78-91 so you are probably right.

Will pick it up tomorrow and see how it fits? Maybe I can make it work with some minor adjsutments. If need be, I can put a stainless or painted plate across the floor front where the seats bolt on to cover the gap if the carpet is too short.

If not, I can always sell it again for $50.00 plus my tax. The list was $550.00

Re: carpet info needed?

As noted, the floor section after the seats changed in 1978.

Re: carpet info needed?

As long as the front section stretches from the firewall to the end of the front floor by the seats I should be ok there. The back section comes from the tailgate and falls over the front edge to meet the front floor. If it is a little short and doesn't meet the floor I can put a panel there to hide the gap and use the original plastic plate as a template.
Hope so anyway. I got the set last night and it looks real good.

Thanks guys

Re: carpet info needed?

Apparently I got the last one but I will check tomorrow for you. It is in Ontario, Canada. May cost you a bit to ship to AZ?

Doug.

Re: carpet info needed?

I checked the shop today Cmoe and they said mine was the only set they had, that is why it was so cheap.

Sorry, Doug
