Re: Regarding Small Step-Vans Custom or Stock

Yes I'm into Stepvans. I'm looking for parts for my 72 P20 and my 72 P10. Things like weather strip for the doors and glass, New hinges for the rear doors. Both mine are Union City stepvans

So far I put some pretty big RV windows in it (they're also emergency exits) and changed the headlights to Freight-liner style headlights and put led tail lights in her. I also picked up a bench style seat that folds into a bed, put all new wood in the rear and picked up two comfy bucket seats.
I'm thinking about installing a front axle and making it into a 4x4. It doesn't look too hard.
Whatcha Think???

Any progress?? I've seen you on other boards.

Re: Regarding Small Step-Vans Custom or Stock

Hey All,

I would love to keep this post alive! We have a massive rebuild and electrification project beginning. We could use all the advice we can get

Overview:
Ultra Small Expedition Vehicle, 4x4 with 80 mile EV range.
Chassis: 1986 m1009 K-5 Blazer
Body: p10 Grumman Olson with a 9" custom body extension, custom doors/windows, Aerogel insulation and external compartments for adventure gear.
Engine: Deutz 4Cyl Air cooled Diesel
Axels: ?
Tranny: ?
EV System:?
Solar Array: 3kwh
Suspension: Airbags for controlling the added weight of the ev system

the list goes on, we are still in the planning stages. Just finished stripping the k5 down to the frame. Next up testing out drivetrain ideas on our p20 as it is easy to drop in different parts/gear ratios to test milage and power

Stay tuned

Sam

Re: Regarding Small Step-Vans Custom or Stock

Here is my 1969 Chevy P10. I got it about a month ago. So far I have replaced the manuel transmission with a 350 turbo automatic. Working on converting the front drums to 5 lug disk brakes. I'm a little confused on which booster master cylinder to buy. Dosen't look like there's much room I have a short nose. Anybody have any suggestions? Also converting to powersteering, converting the rear into 5 lug. Going to add some headers. I have some 15x8's with Coker White walls ready for installation. That's it for now.

Re: Regarding Small Step-Vans Custom or Stock

This is our new 1965 Chevy ice cream project to go with our future mini donut truck. Hoping to get the P10 ready for next Spring.

Airbagged, LS or SBC (haven't decided), probably a dark metallic blue as the fire truck will be repainted a dark red. 20/22 Foose Legends maybe as we already have them. Do swap the body on to an S10 chassis though as they are close to the same size and parts are easy to get. Already have a 5-lug C10 clip and axle conversion though, so could use stock frame if it's still good.

Both vans were built local to me and are unique builds with no replicas that I know of. Will try and update as we go along, it's a major build...lots of rust unfortunately.
