Good Wrench engine

Last weekend my neighbor gave me a 350 that he was going to put in a project but never did. The engine has been sitting for awhile, not sure how long. It is a Good wrench, I pulled the heads the other night and will pull a main and rod bearing to take a look. First question: are these engines built new and stock dimensions? 2:I may have to bore it cylinder wall on a couple don't look promising, Is it worth it ?
The engine wants to turn over but a lot of crud keeping it from doing so.
I can get a rering kit from Summit for like $80 bucks.
