Re: Lift shackles for lowering kit

I used AC delco air shocks with shock extenders ...OEM size shocks. worked perfect.

Re: Lift shackles for lowering kit

they make shackles, but typically they are longer and would lower more.

going shorter would drastically change how the spring flexes and cause a bucking more that likely.

you could consider a rear shackle flip ??? depending on your fab skills and which holes you use...

dig through some 4wd threads, or service sites for rear shackle mounts...some make a boxed version that are smaller overall than a stock and could easily be placed where needed.

Re: Lift shackles for lowering kit

I suggest having your springs rearched for the needed lift. If my memory is right lift shackles are shorter then lowering or factory shackles. This can cause the ride to become a bit jittery due to the springs inability to grow length wide during compression.

You fix them.. just like to fix any other line that may leak on a truck.

When I lowered my 99’ crew cab 4/6 it was a bit too low in the rear. I ordered some 1’ lift shackles off of eBay. They worked just fine.
