Re: Visit the US in September/ October and looking for funny contacts.

Well, by this time, y'all have "sampled" some of your home brew and become fast friends. Wish I was there. Last time I was up in the northeast was October 2005. My late wife and I toured New Hampshire and Vermont. Beautiful.

Many years ago I rode my bike from Seattle to Maine, down the east coast and kitty korner back up to the Seattle area. When I drove through upstate New York I was amazed at how beautiful it was. No word from Gerhard ... Wonder if it's a "dark forest" in that part of New York, like it was in Mississippi = lots to do & little cell service

We had a great time. He boarded the NYC train around 4. I'm sure he is exhausted long day yesterday as he was on a train yesterday for over 13 hours. Went to dinner at local brewpub got to my placed talked over some homebrews . I'm sure he'll be posting as soon as he gets a wifi connection. Here's a picture from today. And yes cell service is spotty here.

Re: Visit the US in September/ October and looking for funny contacts.

So Chevyfans, I'm sitting after a good shower in Brooklyn NYC have a plunters punch cool music and ready to report.

George the beer was excellent and we had alot, wish you would be here too.

Lesli you are completely right, the area here (Catskill mountains) remembers me 100 percent on your Sturgis, nature pure. Genius.

Was arriving by Amtrak along the Hudson River running for hours it was a dream. Than today with Metro Nord again along the Hudson- speechless.
Arriving New York City Grand Central in the rush hour. Could you imagine the jump from black bear area to crowdy 22. century? Wow. I need one more plunters punch.

But now about my last chevy station during my trip: Maybe you remember that I had to change the travel plans. Brrrrrr.
Jumping out on Poughkeepsie, heading to Napanoch.

Mark was so friendly to pick me up on the train station and offers a bed too.( Later I found out in fact the host was his wonderful wife Marybeth)

I handed over the souvenir from Mississippi, to open new horizons.

So than after some beers (tasty, tasty, tasty) I got also a present. Unbelievable the Chevy community has organized behind the lines my missing C NOS !!!! And more the complete set. BRIAN DU SCHLINGEL.

Thank you so much what a surprise.

Re: Visit the US in September/ October and looking for funny contacts.

Gerhard, I think every one of us who had the good fortune to get to know you would say thank you! You've opened my eyes in several ways my friend. We really enjoyed your visit with us and hope to see you on your cruise ship someday. Don't retire anytime soon!! Another benefit I've noticed is that you have brought the forum members to a more personal level.

Safe travels Gerhard!

Oh crap! I forgot about this thread until I talked to a guy from Germany yesterday. I'm sorry to have missed your visit!! I told the wife we were having a visitor from Germany and she was interested to meet you too! We've been preoccupied with a nightmare contractor working on redoing our WC...since like October 1st and it's still not done!!!!

A hug from me too.

As my wife used to say:
To know how sweet your home may be,
just go away, but keep the key.

Gerhard, it was an honor to meet you. I'm sure that everyone who met you would agree. I'm glad you had such an excellent American adventure.
