Hey All - Suspension Mod Question - 1 Ton

1 Ton Dual 3800 Chevy 1954
I Believe it to be Mostly Stock - has Helps as it has a Hoist
Previous Owner says He had 4000 lbs in a few time .
I Think 3000 lbs would be Plenty , No sense Breaking or Bending something.

I have only done Bolt on Tweaks
Bushings , Anti-Drive Offsets etc. , Sway Bars for Handing etc.

Looking at the Weight of a 1 Ton Set Up = Huge Weight to Control , So ?
Thinking of Dropping Out the Helper Springs - each side 26 lbs .

Currently No Shocks on this Axle - Considering - Variable Spring Assisted
Shocks HD Approx. 375-500 lbs Spring Rating Each ..as they Vary .

Hoping those would Replace the Helpers & Gain better Ride Control all
at the same Timer ..

Helpers Currently don't Start to get engaged unless You have 1600 lbs Load .

Spring Assisted Shocks x 2 750 lbs - 1000 Lbs - looking for Strong Mounts ( ? )

Input on Spring Assisted Shocks ?

Looking for any Info or Others that may have taken Out the Helper Springs ( I Know I would have to get New Shorter U-Bolts )

Any Idea's or Input Thanks
Dan
