Re: Alternative parking brake set up?

I think someone makes a parking brake that goes on the driveshaft at the rear diff but I don't know who.

They also make one that goes under the dash of these trucks also.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

That was my first idea. You can clear the wiper motor by using a remote fill master cylinder but you wouldnt be able to fit the booster. To use an under dash booster you need to remove the wiper motor without a doubt and then even still i doubt there would be enough room. I need the wiper motor in any event so Id still need to mount the booster elsewhere and the whole point is to keep it off the firewall... so im back to putting it under the frame =/

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=296620 about halfway down the first page you can see what i mean

The OP did not follow up with the finished install so im not sure what he ended up doing with the booster.

Re: Alternative parking brake set up?

i am scratching my head here as to why under the bottom of the cab , checking the fluid is going to be a pain, and more corrosion under there
i could see that set up for a old street rod or a sunday driver.... but not a truck /daily driver

Different strokes for different folks i guess. Its not difficult for me to get under the cab..maybe for some folks it is. The space and clutter it frees up on the firewall is the main reason for my decision.

Yeah i was about to say that alot of trucks were factory that way. I think ive found some with the real long push rod that should solve my problem if i cant get the parking brake set up differently though

Re: Alternative parking brake set up?

You can get a floor mounted emergency brake and mount it close under the seat.
