Re: spindle question

Just use the 73-87 ball joints and tie rod ends. I have 81 spindles on my 71. With these spindles I can run 91 Camaro rotors with 4 3/4 bolt pattern. I don’t have many 5x5 rims and don’t feel like buying some. Plus the frame I have was bare so I’m building it my way.

Re: spindle question

reason i chose those years is because the qa1 coil over it that im going to do later prefers them so i was gonna kill to birds with one stone and buy the spindles and run them on my 67 arms until iv saved enough to get the kit but the drums have to go asap . also have a 12 bolt in the rear id like to covert to to disc . would it be cheaper to find another rear end from newer truck or buy new axles for this one

Re: spindle question

Oh ok. I would stick with the 12 bolt and put axles in it. Some people may say save your money for a 9in etc. I’m on a budget and will stick with what I have. Plus I’m only making 450/500hp. I had a 72 out of high school....(37 now) built 327, th400 trans, built 12 bolt with axles auburn pro series 4 series carrier with 4.10s. Handled a lot of abuse. All about preference. Disc brake conversion kits are cheap. Also Caption Fab has brackets for disc brake conversions. I forget what components go with the conversion.

Keep the 12 bolt, you can get the Wilwood disk conversion and rebuild everything for under $900 if you shop around.
