Where to buy dual exhaust kit for 4X4

I've picked out my mufflers, Flowmaster 40s, now I need to find a dual exhaust kit that fits for $200 or less. I have a MIG so welding it up is no problem. I have a 72 short bed GMC with 350/350 auto with stock exhaust manifolds. My truck has a four inch lift as well. I want to run the exhaust straight out the back. I'm guessing 2 1/4" pipe will work fine but am willing to go up to 2 1/2" if it's really going to be an improvement. I haven't figured out what offset if any my mufflers will need, it's been suggested that I go with center in and offset out but would like to know what you guys have used and what works.
I want to install the exhaust myself to save money and would like to keep the exhaust (minus mufflers) under $200. Thanks for any suggestions!

Your local exhaust shop will likely do it for under $200. My buddy Rob just pipes burned onto his crewcab longbed and it was only $250 with him supplying the mufflers.

Unfortunately I don't have a local muffler shop, to get to the nearest one is a 150 mile round trip. I'd rather do it myself anyway.

Oh wow. That sucks! I guess I'm a little spoiled with 4 in 5 miles from home...

I don't think you will be able to buy a DIY kit for less or close to $200. But check Summit, JC whitney, evilbay, never know they might have something.

Re: Where to buy dual exhaust kit for 4X4

If you do go somewhere local i would watch their job as i don't know how some of the exhaust work gets out of these places after looking at countless 'custom' exhaust or aftermarket exhaust at my dads shop while cars and trucks are on a lift i feel a little bad the people paid for them so my advice is check it on a lift asap, im not trying to put them down i just feel some of the jobs are worth like 50$ not 2-300+

I have been using the universal, do it yourself kit, from Flowmaster, on the 4x4's. Part number 15936. Last one I bought was $204 from Street Side Auto.

Re: Where to buy dual exhaust kit for 4X4

I used a dynomax 2 1/4'' kit on my old 71. It was the one listed for 73-87 chevys. I got it through jegs and it was less than $150 when I bought it.
