1985 square body 6l80 4x4 question

I have a 6.2 and 6l80 trans out of 2013 escalade. I am wanting to install in my 85 square body sw bed. Right now it has 350 with 700r trans. My question is how do I convert 6l80 to 2 wheels drive? Thanks in advance

If the trans is 4x4 and you need a 2wd its best just to sell it and buy a 2wd one.Bring a 4x4 one you can make a few bucks since they are worth more then a 2wd trans.Only way to convert it is take it to a trans shop have them gut it change out the input shaft and tail housing.A used 2wd trans will be cheaper i bet.

Re: 1985 square body 6l80 4x4 question

Ok thanks for the replies. I talk to transmission shop and they quoted $250 to change out shaft. Another question I have is the fitting of the 6l80 with the small hump on floor board. Will it fit without any modifications? I am planning on using the dirty dingo mounts and sliding engine as far forward as possible.

Re: 1985 square body 6l80 4x4 question

I am planning on selling the transfer case so hopefully that will cover the cost of converting to 2wd. I would like to keep the pair together since they only have about 40000 miles on them.
