08' gmc

Not real happy with the general right now. My 08' Sierra 1500 has the 4.3 v6 in it and just turned 297k miles. Was coming back from a job the other day and it started running real rough. I figured it might be time for a tune up on it so stopped by Napa on the way back and picked up plugs and wires. Finally got it in the shop this afternoon and found #1 cylinder plug wire had come out of the retainer clip, fell against the manifold and burnt in half. I can't believe the general did not make these plastic clips to last for at least 300k miles (sarcasm off now). I pulled the plug to look at it and it still looks new for the most part. I went ahead and put a new plug in and put a replacement wire in place of the burnt one and she runs like a top again. This is still the original tuneup on the truck. Other than brakes, battery, belt and a radiator nothing has been replaced under the hood. I have to say this has been a great truck and if it blows up tomorrow it doesn't owe me a dime. Probably never get another one to last like this one has.

Most women like the strong, silent type… Fortunately for me, my wife prefers the out-of-shape, mouthy type.
