Molding trim

Is the white section in the side molding trim part of the trim or is it the side panels ( body parts) painted white?
I'm using this pic as an example.
Thanks.

Re: Molding trim

The white stripe should be about 2 1/2". If you measure your mounting hole distance between top and bottom holes is 2 1/2" Hope this helps.

i don't have any holes, there was no molding on my truck. I just bought a molding kit from classic industries and there are no directions.
I would rather not drill holes and use 3m tape , I remember reading somewhere how to do it with some sort of plastic spacers needed but i can not find the head anymore.
