The '92 is an awesome truck! Really happy with it. As for Ollie, I decided to not start a thread for now. I get burned out easily and have a tendency to not finish a project and I thought that might be contributing (trying to keep pictures uploaded, documenting progress, keeping up with the rat race, etc) so I'm holding off for now. It currently sits as a drivable truck with a mostly completely refurbished interior. I've pulled the old aftermarket trim and need to pull the current straight 6 bc even though it runs and drives, the current motor has a pretty bad knock in the bottom end and has bad rings. I have another low mileage straight 6 that I plan to beef up and drop in.

In preparation for new trim and motor, I'm debating whether to try my hand at a frame up resto. The cab has some considerable rust down low and I'm just not sure I'll be happy with it if I don't fix it (or have it fixed). If I take my time and just complete one portion at a time, I think I can do it (like i did with interior, start with frame/chassis).

All that said, that's where I am for now. If I'm going to pull the front clip and bed to clean up, do suspension, put in new motor, I figure I may just dive in all the way. I like the truck, it's a shorty, and I have a title so it's worth the investment, in my opinion.

Welcome opinions.

Re: '92 Chevy c1500 Sport

[quote=GAc10boy;7530099]Took a few weeks but finally landed a '92 Chevy Sport Truck. It's got 129k miles, 350 mated to a 5 speed, the BYP RPO code and is in pretty good shape. Stock other than a flowmaster in place of the stock muffler. The sport truck stickers don't seem to have made it to this point. A few dents and dings here and there but a solid truck overall. Truck runs out really well. Must be the 3.42 gear it sports. this is my first OBS, but i fell in love with them when my dad had a 94 Z71 back when I was in high school. I used to love driving that truck.

Anyway, I've got to hunt down a tailgate for it since it didn't quite make the POs collision with a garage door at some point in its life. The truck could use a good buff job.

My plans are modest at this point but include a 2/4 drop with SP shocks, 20" wheels, remove that nasty purple tint, and maybe a few performance goodies (i.e. headers, chip, air cleaner assembly and true duals).

That said, here are the pics.

what a beauty, nice seeing it all stock the body and ride height.

flowmaster will sound great, am adding one on mine soon little v6 will rumble.

Posted Ruby on Craigslist https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/6002055409.html

(Let's not turn this in to a for sale thread. Only an FYI, though I did I try to post in the 88-98 FS section and it didn't work)

Thanks, AD! Pretty nice truck. And that was an older picture from last spring. The truck now has different tires, no tint, no wheel well moldings, and no pinstripe. It was just the best picture I had for now.

Re: '92 Chevy c1500 Sport

I'm new here, but I wanted some expert opions on my old truck. This is a 1992 c1500 Sport with a 350 and 5spd. I've had it for about 16 years now. I bought it my senior year of high school.

I've been trying to figure out what to do with it since it's just a garage queen now and my wife wants me to get rid of it since she won't let any of our children drive it.

I feel like this is a pretty rare optioned truck, but you guys tell me.

Here are some pics

Thanks!

Welcome to the board. I would suggest that you make your own thread and go from there. There's a ton of really great people on here who'll be glad to help. Cheers.

I'll chime in and say that is quite the beauty. It'd likely be worth holding on to if you can. I'm thinking one of the young'uns will get old enough one day to make their own decisions and maybe decide to take that fine truck off your hands.

He did. Back earlier this year. Just bought another OBS from a buddy though. It's a 93 Indy Pace Truck with some hop-up goodies and an auto. Much nicer for daily driving. It needs some TLC but I love this truck!
