!972 3/4 ton 2wd w/ drum brakes?

I just bought what was left of a guy parting out what he said was a 1972 long bed C20. What I got was a rolling frame with the bed. He seemed to know what he was working with but this one has 8 lug drum brakes front / full floater in the rear w/ leaf springs. Wasn't disc brakes standard on 72's? If so what was the last year for drum brakes in the front?

It switched to disk in 71, at least they should have. Check the vin stamped into the frame drivers side top frame rail near steering box, or under drivers side cab. I would assume it was not a 72, but 70 or before, though I'm not real familiar with 3/4 ton.

There was never an option. Brakes were all drum through '70,then front disc ever since '71...on all 10-30s.
