# of splines on NP205 front output shaft

from a 72 Np-205 with a th-350. Also does anybody know wheather they used more than one kind of way of hooking the front driveshaft to the front output shaft? Mine has the yoke to bolt up a u-joint to it, but the driveshaft i just bought has a different CV joint with about a 4inch diameter ring that bolts to another piece. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

John, np-205's behind th-350's used 10 spine front output shaft's with a yoke up until 77 or 78 [ I think it was a midyear change] after that they used 30 spline output's with a companion flange, it sounds like you have the drive flange stlye shaft from a 77 up truck and I'm pretty sure they dont make a flange for your 10 spline output, you may be able to change out the flange from the back half of your cv for the yoke style.
