just got my seat back from upholstery shop

I wanted t share what a wonderful experience I had getting my seat done. I have looked at many shops but in the end ended up going with PETES SEATS. out of Allentown pa. he has been doing truck seats since the 1980s. I met him years ago at Carlisle but he has been out of it for the last few years. He is now back in full swing and doesn't look like he has lost his touch. I went with a heavy duty black vinyl which was expensive but worth it. he cleaned and painted the frame fixed the foam, added extra foam on the top to firm it up and added custom coil springs on the ends to replace the always broken z springs. it is beautiful. If any one is interested tell him you spoke to Andrew from new jersey his number is 252 535 1339. that's his cell. Its a nc number he used to live there but is in pa now. this seat cost me 450 and was well worth it. he will also do mail order covers if you are far away. Figured hopefully we can give him some business and convince him to join the board

Re: just got my seat back from upholstery shop

$450 is not expensive at all. I paid $250 for my high quality cover (car show price, usually much more) and I found a crazy deal on ebay one night for new foams for $250. I did mine myself and I have $500 into mine.

Looks great too!

Very nice! Was $450 for everything or just labor? I have a few broken springs and also need some foam repair. I may have to take a little 4 hour road trip :-)

450 was for everything. it depends on what you need but mine was 450 all in. he is great with his prices. it all depends on the condition of the seat. he will be at truck Carlisle. you can bring your seat to him there if you want. just call ahead

Re: just got my seat back from upholstery shop

I know who he is. He set-up a couple spaces down from me at Carlisle Trucks. His last year was '07 or '08. I've dealt with a local shop forever. It is into it's third generation now. There didn't used to be any pre-made seat upholstery for these trucks of any style.
